The Message From an Empty Tomb
When the disciples looked inside the empty tomb, they were gazing into eternity and saw the destiny of all those who believe. Jesus paved the way for your life and mine for all eternity.
Here’s the deal…
We were all born sinners. Nobody had to teach us how to sin. We did it naturally, on our own. When my children were born, they were born sinners. They lied, took things that did not belong to them, threw fits, etc. Their mother and I had to teach them to do the right thing.
A person born on earth in that condition has no hope of salvation on their own. No amount of good works can make up for the sins they have committed – no more than trying to talk your way out of a speeding ticket by telling the officer that you have driven most of trip under the speed limit - or a murderer telling the judge that there are 7 billion other people in the world that they did not murder. Doesn’t that count for something? No! No amount of good works can make up for a person’s sin.
But, thank God, this is where Jesus comes in!
The empty tomb is a message to us all. It says for beautiful things:
1. It says that the price has been paid for your sin
2. It says that death, hell and the grave has been defeated for us
3. It says that heaven can be our eternal home
4. It says that we have a purpose in life to tell others
I hope that you accept Christ’s free gift and make Him the Lord of your life. The only way to do that is come to Him with a humble and repentant heart and give your life to Him. That’s it. It’s that simple – and yet that challenging at the same time. But you can do it.
In fact, you know you ought to do it.
Deep down, you know that giving your entire life to Christ is the right thing to do. Why? Because God has put eternity in your heart! Ecclesiastes 3:211 says as much - “He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts…” every human being, no matter what they say, has a nagging sensation that the empty tomb is their calling and destiny.
It’s yours today. Come and see!
